The good news is that, according to Automatic Data Processing (ADP), the private sector added jobs again in June, for the fifth straight month in a row. The bad news is that the 13,000 jobs added are far fewer than analysts expected, and a lot fewer than have been added in each of the last four months. Will those jobs be enough to save more Arizonans from declaring that depends on what industry you want to work in.
Most of the jobs were added in the service and manufacturing sector, while goods producers, financial services providers and the construction industry actually cut jobs.  And small businesses with fewer than 50 employees shed jobs overall, while medium and large companies added to their ranks.
ADP only gathers data from one sixth of the US workforce, but their numbers are expected to be reflected in the federal jobs report that will come out some time later. Hopefully, Arizona residents who have been hit hard by the recession will be able to find work and get their finances back in order.
